DOMESTIC ANIMALS IN THE

Huron , dogs or cats must be walked on a leach controlled by
the owner or other responsible person on public streets, sidewalks,
parkways or any public area. In all cases the owner is responsible
for complete disposal of excreta. No animals are allowed on playing
fields or within playground areas. Penalty for infractions may
include fines/impoundment of the animal. As a pet owner, you
must have your pet vaccinated annually for rabies; purchase a
pet license from Erie County ; maintain your pet's good health
with regular check-ups; and any recommended treatment. In addition,
you may not allow your pet to run at large in the community,
to bite or otherwise attack persons, or to cause others great
discomfort or inconveniences. Children and older people especially
must not be alarmed or menaced by larger dogs. All animal excreta
must be disposed of properly. You are always liable within the
community's laws for your pet in public parks that are owned
and operated by the City of Huron . The parks are for all citizens,
and must be kept safe and clean for everyone's use and enjoyment.
HAVE AN IDEA FOR A PROGRAM? We would enjoy hearing about any

HOW TO WATCH A GOOD PROGRAM
DIE! Nothing kills a recreation
program faster than participants who wait until the last minute
to register. That's because if there is insufficient registration
for a program, it will usually be canceled or modified. All our
programs require a great deal of coordination such as facility
reservations, staffing, volunteer recruitment and purchasing
supplies.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES! Volunteers are a vital part of the
department. Their efforts stretch your tax dollars by providing
the staff with many extra hands. Some volunteer for long-term
projects; others help on a seasonal or short time basis. If you
are interested in working a few hours a week in the office, enjoy
instructing a hobby or mowing the grass and you want to be a
part of a community asset, give us a call at (419)433-8487.
EMPLOYMENT! The Parks & Recreation
Dept. looks for quality individuals to join our team. Our team
works hard together to accomplish our goals to service the
needs of our community. If you feel you have quality skills
that could be an asset to our team, give us a call. Complete the Employment Application
FERTILIZATION PROGRAM! Throughout the
year we will be applying lawn chemicals to help improve the
quality of our park turf. With the amount of use and the continued
improvement we strive to offer the utmost in park quality.
Improving the quality of our parks improves the quality of
our life, here in Huron. Please be aware of posted signs in
the lawn and stay off the grass at that time. |
