Beach Yoga

Something new for 2008....Yoga on the beach! Start your Saturday mornings off with a great yoga program while enjoying beautiful views of the lake.  Classes will be held at Lakefront Park.

City Wide Garage Sale I

One monster of a garage sale…over 120 spaces were occupied last year!  This sale is held rain or shine.  Limited number of spaces available, and they go quickly.  No Food or Drink Sales Allowed. Pre-Registration is required.  Register today!!

SAFETY TOWN presented by the Huron Eagles!

Would you like your child to learn traffic, bus, fire and other safety training skills?

Utilizing teachers, police, fire personnel, bus drivers, and a great deal of volunteers, Safety Town not only stresses safety, it also acclimates children to the school setting.  This program is designed for children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2008. All participants receive a t-shirt, be sure to indicate size on registration form.  Class size is limited, please note registration deadline!!

Pre-registration is required using Safety Town Registration Form

The deadline for registration is May 16, 2008

Huron Eagles Scholarship Program

In conjunction with the Huron Parks and Recreation Department, the Huron Eagles Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to those children wishing to participate in safety-oriented programs provided by the Huron Parks and Recreation Department.  Established in 2004, this program demonstrates the Huron Eagles commitment to the safety of the children in this community.  This scholarship program is available for the following programs:  Safety Town.

Baseball Camp (ages 6-12years)

Camp focuses on the fundamentals and important points of hitting, throwing, fielding and defense and is targeted for both beginners and those who want to improve upon their skills.  Participants are asked to bring a glove, bat, and water bottle each day.

All participants receive a Baseball Camp T-shirt (be sure to indicate size on registration form)  Pre-registration required.  4-day camp.

Dates:  June 9-June 12

Days:  Monday- Thursday ( Friday, June 13 used as a rain date only)

Time:  9am-11:30am

Adult Co-Ed Kickball Tournament

benefiting Erie County Special Olympics!!

Saturday, June 14th at Fabens Park.

Get a team together....group of friends, co-workers, businesses...come out and have some fun while donating to a great cause.  25% of team entry fees and concessions will go directly to the Erie County Special Olympics.

Soccer Camp (6-13 year olds)

Get a “kick” out of this!!  Be a part of the 9th Annual Soccer Clinic at the McCormick Soccer Complex.  Participants will receive excellent instruction on the basics of soccer and have the opportunity to improve upon their existing skills.  Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle.  Every participant gets a t-shirt (indicate size on registration).

Three Session dates to choose from!  Classes held Monday-Friday at Huron Lagoons Marina Pool--100 Laguna Drive (off Riverside Drive near Thunderbird Hills Golf Course).

8 class guarantee for weather related cancellations.

Children will be tested the first day of class.   15 maximum in each session.

Go Team!!  Huron youth will have the chance to learn the cheers, jumps and stunts to cheer on those athletic teams throughout the year!!  You will also have a chance to show what you’ve learned at the Huron Riverfest!!

Beach Toning

Something new for the summer.  Aerobics/Toning on the beach.  Same great class we have offered in the past, but with improved views!!  Enjoy the great views of the lake while getting in shape!!  Program will be held at Lakefront Park on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

First Federal Farmers Market  July 17-Oct 30th

Come out to the Huron Boat Basin every Thursday 3:30pm-6:30pm to

buy the freshest produce around.  Introduced in 2006, this program was a hit with the community!! We are proud to have First Federal Savings of Lorain sponsor this event again in 2008.  If you are interested in being a vendor, please contact our office for information.

Join us for the final garage sale of the year!!  Sale is held rain or shine at Fabens Park from 9:00am-1:00pm.  This sale was a hit last year, it’s the perfect time to catch those shoppers in search of items for back to school, college dorms and treasures for yourself!!! No Food or Drink Sales allowed.
